At a friend’s recommendation I decided to give Morganfield’s a try. It’s located at Gurney Paragon Mall and isn’t difficult to find. Its signature dish is Sticky Bones® — a “truly authentic, old-fashioned prime pork rib slow-cooked and smoked in coal and hickory wood to a tender mouthwatering perfection, then basted with the gluey sweet and tangy hickory flavored barbeque sauce with a hint of cider.” This I gotta try—and I wasn’t disappointed.

Some interior shots of the restaurant below.

(Above) It was fortunate that I decided to skip the appetizers and just went with the Sticky Bones. I ordered a half-slab and prep time is about 15 minutes. It comes with a generous serving of coleslaw and fries. Needless to say the meat was juicy, tender, and succulent. One bite and you’re hooked!

(Below) An apron is provided so one doesn’t make a pig of himself or herself. I love the slogan!

(Above) The aftermath. I didn’t think too highly about the fries—some of them were as hard as stone. Next time I’ll opt for mash potatoes instead.

(Below) After resting for a few minutes I ordered their chocolate lava cake. It’s a generous helping with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. Glorious!

Morganfield’s isn’t what I’ll exactly call cheap, but the quality of the food is worth it. Furthermore, I got a 15% discount because I paid by credit card—whoopty doo!

I went to Morganfield’s but sadly was served cold food which was surprising as the small pityful handful of fries I received had been reheated/refried so should have been really hot but just tasted awful. Shame really as the sauce on the ribs would have been nice hot. I asked for apple juice ‘no sugar’ and was full of sugar. It took them 15 minutes to serve the 2 drinks and there were only 4 tables of customers in the restaurant and oodles of staff standing around chatting. Would hate to see them try to cope with a full restaurant!! I asked for a glass of water the moment we sat down and it never turned up until we asked for the bill. Won’t be going back as certainly not worth the price…. even it it turned up hot & was not justy a reheated meal.

Oh dear, I’m so sad to hear about your disappointing meal at Morganfield’s, dbee. In fact I was there for lunch yesterday with a friend from America, and the service was fast even though the restaurant was filling up. The food was good, service was prompt, and the waitress was very attentive about filling up our bottomless drinks. Once again, I’m sorry it wasn’t good for you.
