Another year is coming to an end. I was taken with the Christmas lighting while walking in Straits Quay a few days earlier. Tonight I brought my Canon EOS 550D along and decided to take some shots, all sans flash. This was the sight that greeted people entering the main foyer. It looks like a wire mesh light bulb and I liked the spider lighting on the ceiling.
(Above) The circular light globes at the bottom also caught my eye…I zoomed in as close as I could with my Canon 18-135mm IS zoom lens; it actually had some difficulty focusing but I think this shot was the best. I liked the wavy bokeh in the background too.
(Below) These decorations were at the entrance of Straits Quay. I tilted the camera for a more dramatic effect.
(Above) The lights on this gigantic Christmas tree outside haven’t been switched on yet; still I thought the tree was beautiful. I took this seated and hand-held the camera as steady as I could. Looks nice, yes?
(Below) Ed Note—and here’s a picture of the same Christmas tree all lit up. I took this shot in early December.
