My Song Downloads are now available

Following on some requests from readers, I’ve decided to make all the mp3 songs in My Music page available for download. All I ask in return is a small donation of $2 USD minimum per song. Feel free to donate more if you wish. The proceeds of this will go towards my “ticket fund” as I intend to make a trip back to the United States in the near future.

Presently, there are over 30 songs available, so you’re spoiled for choice. Just pick the songs you want and click on the PayPal Donate button in my sidebar. For example, if you have picked 5 songs, enter $10 (but feel free to donate more!) in the donation amount box. Next, fill in the Contact Me form in my blog, enter your details, and tell me the songs you want. They will then be sent to your email address.

And here’s a special bonus: pick at least 20 songs (or all of them) and I’ll send them by air mail to you in a CD at no extra charge. Just make a minimum donation of $30 USD to qualify for this offer!

Thank you for listening to my music and I hope that you’ll kindly donate to my fund!

Service Interrupted

Yeah, yeah I know…people have been asking, “Where’s episode 8?” Let’s just say that there will be an episode 8 of my Years in America series. Some events have transpired in the past week or so. I managed to reconnect with an old friend from my college days, so it was fun playing catch-up with her and talking about past times. I just love old friends!

I’ve also realized that I’d been neglecting My Music page, which had been gathering virtual cobwebs. So when Crystal made her comment there, I felt really compelled to do something about it. So far I’ve added It is well with my Soul and It’s Wonderful. I plan to add more in the coming days and weeks, due to the fact that I can see in my blog admin someone’s really coming back time and time again!

The comments have also been building up for My Music page, so I’m glad about that. Rest assured, episode 8 is coming soon.

New additions to My Music

Today I uploaded three of my favorite hymns to My Music Page. They are all original arrangements done by me. Enjoy!

  1. Blessed Assurance starts off with a new-age atmosphere, which segues into a classical guitar playing, which then goes into bagpipes (!) and finally ends with grand piano and strings.
  2. How Great Thou Art has a light, jazzy feel. I wanted to evoke a trio playing: a pianist, a double-bass player, and a guy just doing finger snaps.
  3. Standing on the Promises has a marching band feel to it, almost like a Disney Main Street performance. I think I changed keys three times, but this was a fun arrangement.

As usual, I welcome your comments, etc. And don’t forget ScratchBack  Wink

A new page is up: My Music

I’m pleased to announce the creation of a new page in my humble blog. It’s called My Music and the eagle-eyed among you would have noticed the new link in my sidebar. Basically, this is a page where I’ll upload my own performances, and maybe even do one of yours (if you ask nicely, lol). For a start, I’ve uploaded four songs, all from the movies. Dig in and I hope you’ll enjoy them. Please drop me a comment or two, it keeps me from feeling lonely.

The piano is still my favorite musical instrument. I did dabble with the electronic organ and synthesizers (during the 70’s – ah, that was the era of Progressive Rock: how many of you still remember Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Rick Wakeman, Yes-that’s the name of a group I idolized). Yet, this hefty instrument with 88 keys still beckoned and captivated me. And when I have a wonderful instrument to play on, such as my own Yamaha Clavinova, it really relieves the stress of everyday life.

Long live the piano!
