It’s one of these mornings where my mood’s just basking. I had my morning walk as usual, listening to some wonderful Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev on my mp3 player. Came back, had some breakfast and coffee, then booted up the computer. Had a chat with a wonderful friend and then went out to get some music books for my students. We had a brief power cut in this area today so I took that as an excuse to go out, LOL.
I decided to pamper myself a little today, so I headed out to Gurney Plaza and had a nice lunch at Kim Gary, one of my favorite restaurants. Their food prices are very reasonable and service is fast. I opted for the “American” or A-Set. Yummy—Borsch soup, chicken fillet, a thick pork and ham slice, sausages, a generous helping of spaghetti and some mixed veggies, together with an ice-cold coffee drink. All for just $4.50 USD. Ah, I’m really spoiling myself.
After that I went to MPH Bookstore. It’s great there because unlike a lot of other bookstores here, most of the magazines and books aren’t sealed up in plastic wrapping. I nearly bought one of the Reader’s Digest Select Editions but decided that it could wait. Visited the Canon Concept Store because I was eyeing my “mystery” birthday present (all will be revealed shortly, please be patient). The Canon staff were very friendly and helpful, and I did manage to see it later in the day.
Then off I went to play at the E & O Hotel, and what do you know, I meet up with two of my ex-students having their dinner with their parents. I hadn’t seen the children for over 3 years, the daughter was now 10. She was lovely and kept up a lively chatter with me. The thing that made my heart melt was when she said, “Teacher, I’d really prefer to continue learning with you, unfortunately we live so far away.” Altogether now, awwwwwwww. Nice to hear some kind words for a change.

Awwwwww…..that just goes to show what a great teacher you are! I’m glad you’re having a good day and I hope this fine mood carries into the weekend as well!
‘Tis surprising what the small things in life can do, Doris. A kind word, a warm smile, a loving gesture…these help to eradicate the moments of raging storms.
Do NOT open your “mystery” birthday present before your birthday, my friend! xoxo Hey, and speaking of text messages??
Muahaha, that’s going to be very hard to do, since I’m getting the “mystery” present tomorrow and I’ll have to check the contents to make sure everything’s there. Hee hee.
