One thing I have to say about Fong and Swee Lin—they both really know how to take care of their staff. Yesterday, the Piano Idol crew, together with we three judges in tow, went to Tao Japanese restaurant in E-Gate for an early buffet dinner. I think there were about 20 of us. The food was abundant—there was everything: abalone, scallops, cod, salmon, eel (!), prawns, chicken, lamb, beef, sushi, salads—you name it, we ordered it. We washed it down with copious amounts of iced lemon tea, green tea, and a few other drinks. No, we didn’t indulge in any sake; we were all stone-cold sober. Dessert was black sesame ice cream (yummy) together with a side order of watermelon (the only fruit they had available yesterday).
The photo is courtesy of Ee Yin. It was snapped without flash, so I had to clean it up a bit. Yeah, that’s me, third from right, with part of the motley crew.
Once again, a big thank you to Fong and Swee Lin for giving us a delightful dinner, and enlarged pot-bellies.
